The Water City Osaka Consortium (hereinafter referred to as "SOC") has adopted "Sustainable Co-creation of Waterfronts: Water City Osaka" as its vision and "Enhancing the Unique Charms of Water City Osaka" as its mission. It is promoting initiatives such as creating attractive waterfront areas and developing spaces and environments that contribute to the revitalization of water transport, as well as further revitalizing water corridors.
The Osaka-Kansai Expo, held in 2025, served as a catalyst for the creation of new attractions using water and light, such as water shows and the illumination of bridges and other structures.
To actively utilize the legacy of the Expo and to revitalize water transport during the quiet winter season and create even more vibrancy along the waterfront, we will light up the waterfront in the eastern part of Nakanoshima, a key area of ​​the water corridor, to create a "symbolic space of water and light."
