Selection of business operators to be entrusted with planning and management of the Aquapolis Osaka event

The Aquapolis Osaka Consortium (hereinafter referred to as "SOC") aims to "create a first-class aquapolis that is unparalleled in the world, and bring smiles to the faces of those who live there, those involved, and those who visit," and is working to further revitalize the water corridor by creating more attractive waterfront areas and improving the space and environment to revitalize water transportation.
With the Osaka-Kansai Expo being held in 2025, it is expected that not only Osaka residents but also many tourists from both within Japan and overseas will visit Osaka. Taking advantage of the Expo, we will implement projects to promote the attractions of the waterfront, create excitement, and revitalize water transportation so that people can fully enjoy the charms of Osaka, the water city, at waterfront tourist sites, centered on the water corridors in Osaka City, and experience Osaka as a water city.
In implementing the project, we will utilize the knowledge and know-how of private businesses and others to make it more effective and efficient, so we will be soliciting contractors through an open call for project proposals.
