Nakanoshima Park was reborn in 2010 as a park filled with the openness that only a waterfront can offer. It is an urban park consisting of a culture zone, where Osaka City Central Public Hall, the Osaka Municipal Museum of Oriental Ceramics, and Osaka Prefectural Nakanoshima Library are located, and a nature zone surrounded by greenery and water, and the redevelopment was designed with the aim of creating a landscape that stands out on the waterfront and creating a place for tourism and civic activities. The rose garden, which existed before the redevelopment, has also been renovated, and a new boat dock now operates seasonal cruises that offer views of Nakanoshima Park. In addition, a new privately run restaurant has opened. As Nakanoshima Park is an urban park located in a river area, the Osaka City Leisure and Greenery Promotion Bureau was the occupying authority for the establishment of the facility, granting use permission to private businesses.
