Kitahama Terrace, facing the Tosabori River, is a box seating area on the river. Since the construction of this riverside platform, the river has become much closer. From Nakanoshima on the opposite bank, it has become a well-established, lively waterfront scene. Kitahama Terrace was created through collaboration between building owners along the river, local residents, and NPOs, in order to take advantage of its excellent location overlooking Nakanoshima. In establishing a riverside platform on the riverbed, which is a public space, Kitahama Terrace was created through collaboration between the local government and the building owners, local residents, and NPOs. This is an advanced example of a private voluntary organization that was allowed to be treated as a public institution in terms of its purpose and operation, and was granted permission to use the platform as an occupant. The aim is to increase the number of riverside platforms in the future, connecting the town to the river and expanding the everyday life of enjoying food, drinks, live music, and more while feeling the breeze of the river.
