Project Example 1 Nakanoshima Banks

Nakanoshima Banks is a 400m long waterfront space on the left bank of the Dojima River, stretching from Dojima Ohashi Bridge to Tamae Bridge. The space was created on the riverbed in conjunction with the restoration work for the construction of the Keihan Nakanoshima Line, and in 2008, the Nakanoshima area was designated a social experiment zone by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, creating a framework for private use of the river space. In response to this, a facility proposed in a business competition held by Osaka Prefecture, based on the concept of design and creativity, was built by a private company, and currently houses a museum, restaurants, chapel, and more.
