VISION
The Aqua Metropolis Osaka aims to achieve

The Aqua Metropolis Osaka Consortium has recently formulated the "Aqua Metropolis Osaka Vision 2030," which outlines what Osaka aspires to be as a water metropolis by 2030.
This vision redefines Osaka's waterfront as a "stage for creating a better future," inheriting the Osaka-Kansai Expo's philosophy of "designing a future society where life shines." Osaka's rivers and canals have long welcomed and intermingled people, cultures, and industries, creating new value. Based on this history, this vision positions the waterfront as an open space where diverse cultures and ways of thinking can be respected.
Osaka is planning major events in the future, such as the opening of an integrated resort facility (Osaka IR) in 2030 and the opening of the Naniwasuji Line in 2031. In response to these major changes, the vision is to create a "waterfront of sustainable co-creation" where citizens, businesses, and government will work together to take on unique challenges one after another.
