1. Organizing and running the Dragon Boat Tournament
We manage and operate competitions held in Osaka Prefecture, such as the Tenjin Festival Dedication Japan International Dragon Boat Championship, the Sakai Semboku Port Dragon Boat Tournament, and the Osaka Prefectural Athletic Meet Hokuko Sprint Tournament.
2. Promotion of river sports for citizens

We hold outdoor yoga classes called "Riverside Yoga" regularly throughout the year, mainly on the grass field in Nakanoshima Park. In addition, the "Tsunami and Storm Surge Station" attached to our office displays materials about the characteristics of Osaka and storm surge and tsunami disasters, and the "Dynacube (Tsunami Disaster Experience Theater)" inside the museum allows visitors to experience the tsunami disaster caused by a massive earthquake in the Nankai Trough. OBP (Osaka Business Park) is an office building, shopping center, music hall, etc. on a site of about 26 hectares sandwiched between Neyagawa River and Second Neyagawa River. On the opposite bank of Second Neyagawa River, which flows next to Hotel New Otani Osaka, is the greenery of the majestic Osaka Castle Park. It is an "office district in the park". The riverside promenade of about 2 km runs along the waterfront of the two rivers, and I think it is the best location in Osaka where the functions of water and greenery can be utilized in a complex and effective manner. If the rivers on the three sides of the park, north, west, and south, can be utilized more and more as the eastern base of the water city of Osaka, it will be transformed into an even more mature city. Yamamoto Noh Theatre is the oldest Noh theatre in Osaka, located in the samurai residence area of Osaka Castle. It regards Noh as a "fascinating art form that lives on in the modern age" and is engaged in activities to promote and raise awareness of Noh among people of all ages, both men and women, from children to adults. Recently, it has also played a role as a base for disseminating information on Kamigata traditional performing arts, promoting Osaka as the "City of Performing Arts" both domestically and internationally. It also functions as a guest house for Osaka, receiving many visitors from overseas, and hosting receptions for state dignitaries and world-famous champagne makers.

As an event to color the final day of "Suido Osaka 2009," we created and premiered a new Noh piece, "Water Ring," on a boat at the boat dock at Hachikenyahama, the new base of Osaka's rivers. "Water Ring" is a work that considers environmental issues with the theme of water purification, and is filled with thoughts about the revitalization of the water city of Osaka. Since then, it has been performed more than 10 times at venues such as the Central Public Hall, the Nishinomaru Garden of Osaka Castle, Omihachiman Hachimanbori, Bulgaria, and Nakanoshima GATE, appealing to the importance of water through the power of classical performing arts. In Water Ring, the water is purified beautifully by waterfowl, and just as birds have no national or prefectural borders, we hope to connect the world together with the "feeling to cherish water" by performing this work at watersides all over the world. *The new Noh piece, "Water Ring," received the "Future Development Award of the Japan Water Awards" in 27.

We aim to create a seasonal feature of Osaka, the water city, by establishing the Osaka riverside terrace "Kitahama Terrace" along the Tosabori River. In 2009, we were the first private organization in the country to obtain comprehensive permission to occupy riverside land, and started with three restaurants, which has grown to nine as of 3. We support the construction of new riverside terraces and coordinate between the public and private sectors to promote the smooth development of riverside terraces, as well as clean-up activities and the annual "Opening of the Riverside Terrace" safety prayer ceremony. We have repeatedly conducted social experiments on boat docks with the aim of making Kitahama accessible by boat, and we also coordinate with the local community and Osaka Prefecture regarding the development of the waterfront in Kitahama. As a local organization, we also participate in the "Heisei Osaka Milky Way Legend" and the Chuo Ward bicycle countermeasures meeting.

We are creating a festival that began in 973 with the catchphrase "River, Greenery, and Red Bricks" and is based on the theme of preserving the waterfront scenery. It was held 5 times on May 3rd, 4th, and 5th. The executive committee members themselves do everything from planning to making signs, building the stage, accepting exhibitors, applying for permission from the police and other authorities, and cleaning on the day. We have many friends who learned the know-how here and are active in various fields. In addition to hosting the Nakanoshima Festival, we cooperate with events in various regions such as the Hikohachi Festival, Koiya Festival, and Kobe Yosakoi Festival to convey the four spirits of "independence, creativity, solidarity, and participation." We are looking for friends who will help us create festivals like this.

Nakanoshima Library and Central Public Hall are beloved red brick buildings. Nowadays, they are treasured as precious and tasteful buildings remaining in Nakanoshima Park, but 40 years ago they were scheduled to be demolished as outdated buildings with no use. The rivers and moats remaining in Osaka City have a history of being filled in and blocked by expressways, and deemed unnecessary for the development of the city. From now on, I hope that these waterfront spaces, the only ones with wide skies in this crowded city, will be cherished and utilized as precious treasures of Osaka. Just as Central Public Hall has created new appeal, let's think about how to use them for the future.

Higashiyokobori River Waterfront Regeneration Council

On July 2006, 7, residents, shop owners, local businesses and others gathered at Higashiyokobori River, where the sounds of the Dondoko boats from the Tenjin Festival echo, to launch the Higashiyokobori River Waterfront Regeneration Council (commonly known as e-yokokai). Currently, the council has about 24 members. Aiming to make Higashiyokobori River a part of the city, the council is working to make the most of the river through activities such as holding the e-yoko stroll, a cultural festival to enjoy the waterfront and the city, monthly cleanup activities, and setting up flower pots on Honmachi Bridge. *The name "e-yoko" is an acronym for "East Yokobori River."
Higashiyokobori River is Osaka's oldest moat, excavated as the outer moat of Osaka Castle. Although it is a precious waterfront in the city, it is surrounded by high revetments on both sides and a highway runs over the river, making it seem difficult to approach. In order to improve the appeal of the waterfront of Higashiyokobori River and revitalize the surrounding area, we started by doing what we could, and developed activities that utilize local resources, and in May 2015, our long-awaited first wharf on Higashiyokobori River, "Honmachibashi Wharf," opened. In the future, we will work to create a bustling atmosphere centered on Honmachibashi Wharf, aiming to become a new base for the water city of Osaka.

In 2013, when Honmachi Bridge turned 100 years old as the oldest active bridge in Osaka City, local residents, shops, and businesses formed the "Honmachi Bridge 100th Anniversary Association." They began their efforts to raise awareness of the famous Honmachi Bridge, which is also registered as a cultural asset designated by the city of Osaka. In addition to forums to learn about Honmachi Bridge, bridge washing, and bridge cruises, they collected old photos of Honmachi Bridge, memories related to Honmachi Bridge, and testimonials about the history of the area, and displayed 100 of these documents on the railings of Honmachi Bridge. They made efforts to let the many people who pass by Honmachi Bridge know about the history and charm of the area.
Suihigashi Yokobori River is Osaka's oldest canal, originally excavated as the outer moat of Osaka Castle. In addition to continuing the city's valuable cleaning activities, bridge washing, and document exhibitions, we are also working to revitalize the Honmachibashi wharf, which was completed in May 100, as a base for small boats called "Honmachibashi BASE," with an eye on the next 2015 years.
